This 3.2 V8 Sovereign in the beautiful color Westminster Blue just has it; An interior and exterior in great condition, chassis in top condition, no sagging headliner and a complete maintenance history. Totally worth the investment, there is no doubt about it.
The Sovereign was originally delivered new in Belgium. We have this acquisition from a local Jaguar specialist, a common situation.
A Jaguar ready for the next enthusiast, that is our goal. That is why major maintenance was carried out immediately after arrival, including replacing the thermostat housing for an aluminum one; the plastic ones tend to break over time. The connected cooling hoses have also been preventively renewed. It goes without saying that coolant, oil and oil filter have been renewed. In addition, the air conditioning system has been serviced and the air conditioning fluid has been filled. To be on the safe side the battery has been replaced, not an unnecessary luxury in the cold winter months.
During maintenance there was a good view of the distribution modification carried out in history; an important but also costly grasp. These costs are therefore saved for the new owner.
The Sovereign features an typically Jaguar color; Westminster blue. The coachlines are executed in a lighter shade of blue; a classic combination. The interior is finished in beautiful Cashmere leather, also with a contrasting color. Of course you will find burr walnut in abundance. Wood that normally loses its deep color and shine due to the influence of UV light. Not with this Jaguar, the woodwork looks beautiful and is in very good condition.
The headliner has been renovated by us; no sagging headliner but a beautiful luxurious, new ‘alcantara’ fabric, professionally glued.
You can tell by everything that no cuts have been made on maintenance in the past 23 years. Drive the XJ over bad road surfaces and the chassis will continue to feel firm, free of rattles, creaks and play. The gearbox shifts smoothly and the steering feels solid.
Sovereign, the most luxurious version in the Jaguar range at the time. The beautiful alloy wheels are part of this, just like the stainless steel window frames and the extra chrome details, such as the fully chromed grille and the chrome surroundings of the rear lights. Furthermore, a Sovereign has a rain and a light sensor as standard, electrically adjustable seats with memory function and even electrically adjustable steering column and headrests are present.
As said, I took over this XJ from a Belgian Jaguar specialist. That is a pleasant purchase, because you do not have to doubt the quality. As indicated, the modification of the distribution was already completely done. The vulnerable points on the chassis were also addressed some time ago, so there is no visible rust on sills and footwells, for example. The fender edges are also free of rust. Only in the lower corners of the rear window are some miniscule bubbles visible, not disturbing but still worth mentioning. All in all a very neat and especially classic appearance, this Sovereign!
Service history and all documents are included. The key set includes two keys and two remote fobs.
There is still a lot to say about this Jaguar, but of course you only get a good picture when you look at the car and drive it. you are very welcome in Oirschot, the coffee is ready.
