While you would expect that I would look for and ultimately find the classics, it is actually the other way around; the classics find their way to Oirschot. This is also the case with this XJ. A lady on the other end of the phone; her father’s Jaguar was ready for a new enthusiast.
This X350 in the beautiful color Indigo Blue Mica just has it; An interior and exterior in top condition, a chassis in top condition, everything exudes quality.
The XJ8 was originally delivered new in Breda. It has been used with care, as it shows on all sides. The seats are undamaged, the steering wheel looks almost new. All functions work, including the seat heating and windscreen heating, wonderfully comfortable in the winter.
The XJ has an uncommon color; Indigo Mica. The interior is full of beautiful Champagne leather. Of course you will find burr walnut wood in abundance. Wood that normally loses its deep color and shine due to the influence of UV light. Not with this XJ, the woodwork looks beautiful and is in very neat condition.
Where time never seems to stand still is above your head, the headliner. Sooner or later, whether driven a lot or not, the glue slowly comes loose. For this reason, we replaced the headliner with beautiful Alcantara in the same color, beautiful to look at.
The engine is the reliable 4.2 V8, which runs large numbers of kilometers without any problems. This version of the Jaguar AJV8 is equipped with improved chain tensioners and guides as standard and therefore requires no modification.
The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, the suspension feels solid. The standard air suspension ensures that the XJ feels stable yet comfortable.
Sovereign, the most luxurious version of the Jaguar XJ. Seat heating on all seats, for example. Electrically adjustable front seats, the driver’s seat with memory function. Even the steering wheel is electrically adjustable! The beautiful, extra soft leather in champagne color together with the contrasting piping completes the whole.
An X350 is an interesting XJ. The aluminum, self-supporting body ensures a low weight, lower than its predecessor. Contemporary technology makes it an ideal travel car for long distances. The engine block is the further developed version of the already reliable AJV8. In addition, the X350 is usually very interesting to drive for business purposes; the Youngtimer scheme ensures a low additional tax, which the entrepreneur immediately addresses.
The Sovereign is delivered with a brand new MOT. The service folder is of course present and the key set consists of 2 original folding keys with a green Valet key.
Immediately after arrival we carried out major maintenance on the Sovereign. No expense was spared. Four new tires have been fitted, no B-selection but wonderful, whisper-quiet Michelins. A new air mass meter was needed and has been installed. The water pump has been replaced as a precaution for optimal safety. Naturally, fluids have been replaced.
Well, there must be something to complain about, wouldn’t you say? Alright, there is some slight aluminum corrosion visible on the tailgate, a common occurrence. There are also some light scratches visible around the handles and the carpet in the trunk is somewhat damaged. Was that it? Yes that was it.
There is still a lot to say about this X350, but you will of course only get a good idea when you view and drive the car. you are very welcome in Oirschot, the coffee is ready.
