The most desirable Daimler worldwide – Daimler Century 1/100.
Simply untraceable. Simply unique. A Daimler Century doesn’t really need any words, enthusiasts know enough. Add to that the desirable great condition of this particular example and you have a ‘once in a lifetime’ Daimler.
1996, 100 years of history. This was celebrated with two special models; the Daimler Century. Supplied in 4.0 inline-six and 6.0 V12. Each model in Long Wheel Base. It had to be the most luxurious, most fully equipped Daimler ever, a special model. Only 100 copies of both engine types were produced to ensure exclusivity.
Everything about the Daimler Century exudes quality and luxury. The beautiful Turbine rims, black Century emblems, gold inlaid. Luxury burl walnut wood of the highest quality, also ‘Century’ inlaid. Almost every interior part is finished with the soft-feeling, fine Analine leather. A Harman Kardon sound system with 9 speakers and 240 watts of power.
Never before have you even found a memory function on the passenger side for the fully electrically adjustable seat, but in the Century models. Although the luxurious captain chairs in the rear were actually only introduced in 1997 when the new type X308 was introduced, Daimler had the scoop with the Century; In the rear compartment you will find the electrically adjustable and heated separate seats, with the typical Daimler logo on each headrest. The make-up mirrors, recessed into the headliner and slightly turned towards each seat, complete the whole.
This Century in the beautiful color Spruce Green just has it; An interior and exterior in top condition, a chassis in top condition, everything exudes quality. No stone chips, no parking dents, virtually no damage. That says something about the way this Century has been ridden, cherished in this case, in recent years. Definitely worth the investment, there’s no doubt about that.
The Century was originally delivered new in Belgium. This Daimler came into our hands two years ago and major maintenance followed. The new owner was quick to act; Philipp noticed the Daimler and bought it before the Century was advertised.
The Century has an equally rare color; Spruce Green. The interior is made of beautiful Silk White leather, leather that seems to have hardly ever been touched. You will find leather everywhere, even on the door panels. Beautiful but above all very unique. Of course you will find burr walnut wood in abundance, of course with a hand-inlaid Century logo.
Real enthusiasts, the previous owners of this Daimler! The complete press kit is available at the Century. In this service folder you will even find the original Belgian purchase invoice, unique! This completes such an enthusiast’s car. A nice detail; the original purchase invoice states a special choice by the first owner. He chose to have the Daimler delivered on silver-painted rims instead of the chrome-plated ones as usual with a Century. Original and special, this Daimler.
The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, the suspension feels solid. A ‘singing’ differential is a well-known problem with the X300 Jaguars and Daimlers. The differential of this Century is of course very quiet, inaudible.
Of course, it is immediately noticeable that the chassis and bodywork are in exceptionally good condition. Sills, wheel arch edges, all critical parts are virtually rust free. A well-preserved example, with a 28-year history. Not bad; the Century is usually stored indoors.
No rust is visible under the rear window, new condition. The chrome on both bumpers, which is becoming scarce these days, is also in new condition. Not to mention the headlight washers, which are untraceable these days! On this Century these are neatly intact, as they should be.
It is clear that this is a special model. A Daimler Six Century had a price of FL247,000 at the time, the Double Six left Coventry for FL260,000. An amount that is nowadays comparable to the price of a new Bentley, to name just an example.
You can imagine how extremely rare a Daimler Century is. A total of 200 copies have been distributed worldwide. How many of these are left? Who knows.
The Century is delivered with a German registration. Of course we can take care of the registration in the Netherlands or another country. As mentioned, the service folder is present. Invoices for previously performed maintenance are available. The last maintenance was carried out under our management in June 2024.
Are there any negatives, you may wonder? Actually only one, a downside that is not immediately noticeable: The carpet on the driver’s side is missing. The other three lambswool carpets are present, complete with Century logo.
There is still a lot to say about this special Daimler Century, but you will of course only get a good idea when you view and drive the car. you are very welcome in Uden, the coffee is ready.
