Originally delivered new in Italy, this XJ8 has been meticulously cared for, and it shows in every aspect. The seats are unblemished, the steering wheel looks virtually untouched, and all features function exactly as they should.
The XJ comes in the rare and highly sought-after colour of Racing Green, paired with a beautiful Cream leather interior. Naturally, the cabin is adorned with generous amounts of rich walnut veneer.
One area where time seems to take its toll, regardless of mileage or care, is the headliner. Over time, the original foam and adhesive tend to deteriorate. For this reason, the headliner has previously been replaced with a high-quality fabric in the same elegant colour – a visually appealing and tasteful update.
Under the bonnet lies the reliable 4.2-litre V8, a powerplant renowned for effortlessly covering high mileages. This particular version of the Jaguar AJV8 engine is fitted with the updated timing chain tensioners and guides as standard, so no further modifications are needed.
The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, and the suspension feels solid and refined. The standard air suspension ensures the XJ remains composed yet supremely comfortable. A few years ago, the air compressor was replaced by a specialist – documentation of this service is available.
Electrically adjustable front seats, with memory function for the driver. Even the steering wheel is electrically adjustable! The beautiful, soft Cream leather completes the luxurious interior.
The X350 is a particularly interesting chapter in the XJ’s history. Its lightweight, all-aluminium monocoque body results in a lower weight than its predecessor, contributing to its agility and efficiency. Combined with modern technology, this makes the X350 an ideal long-distance touring car. The engine is an evolved version of the already reliable AJV8, offering both performance and dependability.
Another major advantage: the X350 is often an attractive option for business use. Thanks to its classification as a “Youngtimer” in the Netherlands, it qualifies for favourable tax benefits—something that definitely appeals to entrepreneurs.
This XJ8 will be delivered with a fresh MOT. The service booklet is present, and the car comes with two original folding keys, as well as a green Valet key. One of the remotes, however, is currently not functioning.
Immediately upon arrival, we performed a major service on the XJ 4.2, addressing several preventive maintenance points as well. The battery was replaced, and a new control arm was fitted.
Alright, surely there must be something to complain about? Surprisingly little, in fact. There is some typical aluminium corrosion visible on the boot lid—a common issue—and some minor corrosion under the paint on one of the rear doors. That’s it.
