An XJ that we have known for years, that is what our customers and I prefer to see!
After all, you know the car like no other, know the pluses, and minuses if there are any.
A few years ago we took over this XJ from a real enthusiast, at the time it was already in a very good condition. In the meantime, years of steering have passed, each year with the correct maintenance as a basis. Nothing was spared by the previous owner. Even the complete gearbox with converter was overhauled by a specialist over a year ago.
major maintenance was carried out in May 2023 and the XJ was aligned. Of course immediately a new MOT, all ready for a new year! Sometimes things don’t turn out as expected in life, the XJ has been back with us since this weekend.
Fortunately, only enthusiasts report here and so the Jaguar ends up at a good address again, we all take care of that.
As mentioned, the previous owners were very careful with it. That’s how the XJ drives, that’s how the XJ looks and that’s how the XJ ‘feels’. No parking damage. No overdue maintenance. No rotten sills or underbody. Everything up-to-date, down to the last detail. A lovely wooden steering wheel in top condition. A beautiful deep dark brown gear knob. Off, that’s this 3.2 V8.
Indeed, completely ready. Drive over a bad road and the Jaguar continues to feel solid and stable, something that sometimes wants to be different when you look at the average offer. Unstable handling, worn steering wheel, hanging headliner, damaged driver’s seat… Not this time, this XJ is so different.
Then the optical part, also important. Headlining has already been renovated once. The chairs in the beautiful color Cashmere look neat, no crazy damage to be seen in the interior. Parking dents or hail damage? No.
Just to ‘the cleaner’ is often said in the car world. We don’t go to the cleaner. A cleaner cleans, we like to do that ourselves. A detailer reconditions, brings the external condition of the car in top condition.
We go to the ‘Detailer’. A good detailer is a busy woman or man. Our appointment is August 15, but there is a good chance that this XJ has already found a new owner before that!
Original Jaguar Radio? Check. Light sensor? Of course. Fully electric seats? Also that. Wooden steering wheel and wooden gear knob, already mentioned. Amazing, right?
View the engine compartment and it is immediately noticeable that it also looks very neat there. Of course we checked at the time whether the chain tensioner had been modified. Good news; the upper chain tensioners and guides have been replaced, not entirely coincidentally by a specialist from our network. The air conditioning cools as it should, which is nice.
Just a very good example of an enthusiast’s car, this X308.
The body of the Jaguar looks very neat. There is no visible rust on the wheel arch edges or on the mudguards. The known weak points at the front of the sill have been professionally restored. I have to say, that looks perfect, you see that sometimes differently.
The complete service folder is included with the car. The Jaguar was delivered new on February 1, 2000. The maintenance has been carried out beautifully consecutively.
The XJ is delivered with a brand new MOT and 1 key set. A second set can be ordered at extra cost and delivered by us. Due to the recently performed maintenance, gearbox overhaul, new MOT and the fact that there are no overdue matters, this is an XJ that you can immediately use daily, without worries.
The negatives, I would mention them. there are some light signs of wear on the steering wheel, and a single small scratch on the body reveals the use of the last few years. Another detail is a small spot on the driver’s door where the clear coat is gone, the size of a dollar, just to stay in the 90s. Was that it? Yes that was it.
There is still a lot to say about this Jaguar, but of course you only get a good picture when you look at the car and drive it. you are very welcome in Oirschot, the coffee is ready.
