We have known this XJ for many years now. The current owner bought the XJ 3.2 here already 3 years ago, in the meantime we are 15,000 km further and a Daimler Eight has been bought. Time for the Jaguar to be passed through to a new enthusiast.
It is a sporty looking XJ, with a lovely interior. The ‘Birdseye maple’ wood veneer is a perfect match with the black perforated leather on the sports seats and steering wheel. The silver metallic paint also shows the body sporty eyes, different from the often seen blue or green.
1998 was the year in which this XJ was delivered by the RAC in Rotterdam. This copy counts four pages full of maintenance services, all services have been carried out by the dealer who delivered the Jaguar new. Special right!
In addition to the well-maintained condition of this XJ, we had a major service carried out in 2020 by Coventry BV, one of the Netherlands’ best Jaguar specialists. The water pump, thermostat, valve cover gaskets and subframe rubbers were replaced preventively. Subsequently, the current owner continued the maintenance. Over the years, for example, the brake discs and pads have been renewed in addition to regular maintenance.
Of course, we checked whether the chain tensioner modification has been executed. Good news; the complete modification has been carried out, so upper and lower wrenches and guides have been replaced. Pictures are of course available.
The headliner was renovated in 2020, so it is still in new condition.
It will not have escaped your notice that the XJ is very attractively priced. The story behind this is simple; the few points of attention that the XJ has are no longer addressed by the current owner, that is for the new owner. So what is it all about, you ask? Not for urgent matters; the XJ drives great, has no flaws. It concerns less urgent matters, namely minimal rust on the left rear screen. A small dent on the right rear door. Small maintenance to be done. A vibrating wing mirror. That was it, by and large.
My hands are itching to get started, but the current owner is currently opting for this approach. There is a good chance that I will take over the XJ from him in due course, but until then you have the chance to drive an XJ with a good history, in good condition and ‘from a trusted family’ for this interesting price.
I don’t have to explain that this VAT-taxed XJ is extra interesting for entrepreneurs (Netherlands). We are happy to take the XJ to an even higher level for you, whereby the maintenance costs are directly and fully charged to your company result, VAT can be deducted.
The XJ is delivered with a brand new MOT. The key set consists of 1 black key with remote control.
The complete service folder is included with the car. The Jaguar was delivered new on May 1, 1998.
There is still a lot to say about this Jaguar, but of course you only get a good picture when you look at the car and drive it. you are very welcome in Oirschot, the coffee is ready.
