The first Dutch owner was living in London at the time and had his XJ delivered there, with Dutch specifications. And what kind of specifications; a unique colour, the finest engine variant, the most beautiful rims and all in Sport trim. Subsequently, this Sport never changed hands for the next 25 years. Until we took over this special X300 from the first owner.
25 years of driving one and the same car, that says something about the way this Jaguar has been driven in recent years, cherished in this case. Definitely worth the investment, there’s no doubt about it.
The XJ features an uncommon color; Carnival Red Mica. The interior is made of beautiful Charcoal leather, leather in very good condition. Of course you will find wood in abundance, in this sporty version it is maple.
However, where time never seems to stand still is above your head, at the headliner. Sooner or later, much ridden or not, the glue will slowly come off. Because this completely destroyed the condition of the car, we professionally renovated it. it looks neat again and can look forward to the next 10 years.
The condition of this XJ is very good. The paintwork looks nice and sleek, the bottom looks neat. There are currently no issues that require attention.
The XJ Sport naturally looks as it should; original Jaguar radio, a working clock, no built-in car kit, just as delivered new at the time.
The engine is the reliable 3980CC six-in-line, which runs large numbers of kilometers without any problems. Only 500 km ago we had major maintenance carried out by our technical partners. Nothing has been spared.
The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, the suspension feels solid. The chassis of the Sport version has a slightly tighter suspension and gives the XJ a wonderfully sporty handling. The beautiful, original XJR rims in 17 inch with good tires complete the chassis and appearance.
The chrome on both bumpers, which is becoming scarce these days, is also in good condition.
An X300 is often seen as Jaguar’s most reliable XJ. Due to the relatively short production period, the model is now also becoming scarce; a good copy is increasingly difficult to find. It goes without saying that an X300 in this condition is a good investment.
Are there any downsides, you ask? On the right front fender some rust is visible under the paint, luckily this is fairly easy to fix.
Of course, the service folder is present, complete with a fully completed maintenance booklet. In addition there are lots of documents with this classic, like the original sales invoice, many service invoices and additional documents. Our invoices are also available, including digitally.
The key set consists of two keys, a Valet key and two working, original remote controls.
