This Daimler Eight is special, because Short Wheel Base. Only a few hundred copies were built. Because fair is fair; it is not a logical combination. Not the extra 10cm legroom in the back, but yes to the original lines, as the X308 is intended. Slimmer, lower, prettier, if you ask me. Worth the investment, no doubt about it.
The Eight was originally delivered new in Germany. Arrived in the Netherlands via enthusiasts, and maintained by enthusiasts. Jagpoint took care of the distribution modification and other technical maintenance in 2021, we took care of the optical details in this year; headlining and the interior were overhauled.
The Eight has an uncommon color; Anthracite Metallic. The interior is made of beautiful Cashmere leather, leather in very good condition. Beautiful but above all very unique. Of course you will find burr walnut in abundance. Wood that normally loses its deep color and shine, due to the influence of UV light. Not with this Daimler, the woodwork looks beautiful and is in top condition.
And then, look at this beautiful designed headlamp washers… Great! Rare also.
What is special is that everything functions as it is intended. This is no coincidence, but simply the result of skilled work. Not functioning memory of driver’s seat and steering wheel, a worn-out interior, or lighting not automatically switching on… for an enthusiast this is tiring, and for us that is precisely the challenge! Everything has been thought of.
The current owner is an entrepreneur. Since he will be retiring soon, it is accounting time to sell the Jaguar. No news for us; this planning was already available when the work was being carried out here at the beginning of this year, a common situation and it is always nice to see customers again.
Of course, the service folder is present, complete with a fully completed maintenance booklet.
Come on, there must be something to complain about, wouldn’t you say? Fair is fair; the right rear outer wing deserves some attention, there is some rust visible under the paint. Minimal, but worth mentioning. Of course I like to look at the solutions for this together with the new owner.
